The Road to State has officially been set for the Pella Christian volleyball and cross country teams.
In Class 2A Region 3, the Eagles volleyball team opens postseason play at home against Interstate 35 on Monday. With a win against the Roadrunners, Pella Christian advances to take on Class 2A #15 Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Wednesday. Should they advance to the regional semifinals, the Eagles would take on the winner of Pleasantville and North Mahaska on Monday, October 23rd. If Pella Christian advances to the Regional Championship, they would face one of #5 Treynor, Tri-Center, Shenandoah, AHSTW, and Underwood from the other side of the bracket.
For the ranked Eagles cross country teams, they will host 14 schools in one of the five Class 2A State Qualifying sites at the Pella Sports Park on Thursday, October 19th. Among the 14 schools in attendance, the #15 Pella Christian boys will face three ranked teams and the #20 Eagle girls will compete against four other teams in the rankings. The boys race includes #1 Des Moines Christian, #4 Chariton, and #16 Clarinda, while the girls race features #2 Albia, #4 Des Moines Christian, #15 PCM, and #16 Clarinda.
The Pella Christian volleyball team’s first postseason game at home against Interstate 35 is Monday at 7 p.m., while the Eagles State Qualifying cross country meet on Thursday, October 19th will begin at 4 p.m.
