It was the best of the season for the Knoxville Cross Country Squads as the Panther girls finished 4th and the boys took 2nd, 39 points behind champion Chariton in the South Central Conference Meet in Moravia on Tuesday with Knoxville’s Isaac Rankin winning his second straight individual conference title. Rankin ran the boys course in a personal record 16:18. Cael Cook also earned all-conference with the personal record of 17:01 in 7th place. Reid Sinclair ran a personal best time of 18:00, finishing 14th, earning 2nd team all conference, and Connor Schultz ran a personal best time of 18:01 to earn Honorable Mention all conference finishing 16th. The girls finished 4th as a team, led by Halle Baker in 19th at 22:58, and two seconds behind was older sister Janae in 23:00. Both earned honorable mention all-conference. Coach Michael Splavec tells KNIA/KRLS Sports both teams are peaking at the right time and looks forward to the State Qualifier next Wednesday.
