Marion County Conservation released their October Nature Notes last week. Marion County Naturalist Marla Mertz says that with the seasons changing, now is a great time to see insects in the area preparing for winter.
“We’re seeing a lot more insects right now, of course it’s insect retirement. And all of our bees and wasps, everybody has a job to do to get ready for the winter. And it’s also just a magnificent time to watch some of our dragonflies migrate. And so, they’re coming down from Canada and moving on south and it’s a great time to be outside.”
