The Pella Christian volleyball team travels to Newton tonight to compete in the Little Hawkeye Conference Tournament.

The Eagles, who finished third at the league tournament a year ago, enter tonight seeking their first conference win of the season. Despite their record in the league, Pella Christian has generally played well. Of the six games, the Eagles have held either a 2-0 or a 2-1 advantage in half their conference games. Pella Christian senior Annika Van Dyke says that the team’s goal is to play the role of spoiler at the league tournament tonight.

“I think that going in people are going to have a lot of low expectations, because how we’ve done in the conference, but I think that that can help us to just not have as much pressure on us and then we can play how we know how we can.”

The Little Hawkeye Conference tournament for the Eagles volleyball team begins at 4:30 this afternoon at Newton High School.
