The Pella Opera House hosted 2nd and 3rd grade students from schools throughout Marion County on Tuesday and Wednesday for Professor Smart’s Fun with Physics.

The event was sponsored by the Marion County Community Foundation and the Vermeer Charitable Foundation, and had kids in attendance from Pella Community, Knoxville, Pella Christian, Pleasantville and Twin Cedars elementary schools. Todd Victor, better known as Professor Smart, says that his program is designed to be fun and interactive.

“My show is built on physics, basic physics concepts. I work with static electricity, gyroscopic properties, levers and fulcrums, really fun, easy stuff. I do this cool optical illusion where I shrink my head, I use a Theremin, which is a musical instrument you play without touching. But we do some pretty cool stuff, as much fun stuff as I can pack into an hour of science for kids. ”
