The Pella Christian football team travels to Colfax-Mingo tonight to wrap up the regular season and Class 1A District 6 play.
The Eagles are fresh off a bounce back 43-0 victory over Cardinal last Friday, after dropping their only district game this fall to Sigourney Keota two weeks ago. Meanwhile, the Tigerhawks are winless in the league, most recently falling 82-0 to Sigourney Keota last week. Tonight marks the eighth meeting between Pella Christian and Colfax-Mingo, with the Eagles winning all of seven of the prior meetings. Facing a Tigerhawks team that has struggled throughout the season, Pella Christian head coach Rich Kacmarynski says his team is trying to build more momentum as they prepare for the postseason.
“We want to focus on finishing strong. We’ve had a great year and this is our last regular season game, so we’ve been talking all week about just finishing the regular season strong with momentum going into the playoffs so that’s what we want to do. We’ve had a great week of practice. We want to play our best football year, not only for the district final but also as we again look towards the playoffs.”
The regular season finale tonight for the Eagles is scheduled to kick-off at 7 p.m., and Tyler Crabb and J.D. Boer will call all the action live on 92.1 KRLS, beginning with pregame coverage at 6:30.
