The Warren County Leadership Institute class of 2022 celebrated the dedication of their class project Thursday evening, providing new playground equipment for the Warren County Fairgrounds.

Class member Josh Wilson tells KNIA News the playground was outdated and not maintained as well as it needs to be, and there was a need in the community for the new setup.

“What we noticed was that the playground that existed now is really close to the road. The wood was old, had not been treated for awhile, and the slide was in disrepair, things of that nature. We think it will be something for families to enjoy in the future.”

The 2023 Warren County leadership class hosted a 5K Run/Walk to raise funds for mental health awareness, and applications are currently being taken for the class of 2024.
