The PCM football team defeated the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets 45-6 in their regular season finale Friday on senior night, as heard live on the KRLS3 stream.
The Cadets’ talented senior quarterback Jaden Damiano found the endzone on a rushing touchdown for Iowa Falls-Alden in the first half, but PCM secured the win in dominating fashion. Junior running back Adrien Robbins continued his dominance, capping off an incredible junior regular season with 306 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns in the contest. Quarterback Gavin Van Gorp threw for two touchdowns and ran one in himself to help pad the PCM lead. The PCM defense was led by senior Griffin Olson and junior Finn Wilson, who each came away with an interception on the night and combined for 15 tackles.
After the win, PCM finishes the regular season with a 6-2 overall record and a perfect 5-0 district mark. PCM has secured a number one seed in the playoffs and they will host a team still to be determined at home in Monroe next Friday night. PCM Head Football Coach Greg Bonnett wants to see his team continue to get better.
“I think we handled business. We got better every single week and we need to get better every single week. I always tell our guys that if you think you’re good enough then you’re not. That’s just the rule. If you believe you can get better, and if you are willing to sacrifice and focus and do the things it takes to get better, then we have just as much right to be there at the end as anybody.”
The Mustangs finished the regular season with 3,474 yards of total offense through eight games.
