Class 1A volleyball squads will start their road to Iowa City on Monday and the Girls Union decided to treat Marion County to one more Twin Cedars and Melcher-Dallas matchup. The rematch from a few weeks ago will be played at Twin Cedars, where the previous meeting was back on September 28th. In that match the Sabers largely dominated things from the start, winning in three sets. Many of Twin Cedars’ points were on Saints errors as the Saber took advantage of getting out to big leads in each set. The Saints are 4-16 and have not had the season they thought it would be, but Coach Jesyka Nolte tells KNIA Sports, one win over an arch rival would cure a lot of ills. The winner heads to defending class 1A State Champion and #1 ranked Ankeny Christian in a 2nd round match on Wednesday.
