The Knoxville Volleyball Squad finished up 3-1 and 3rd place in the Panthers’ Invitational on Saturday. Knoxville swept its pool going 3-0 beating Grinnell in two sets 23-21 and 21-15, swept Albia 21-18 and 21-10, the Panthers had an entertaining three set win over Holy Trinity 21-23, 21-12 and 15-12, however fell to ADM in three sets in the championship bracket. Coach Mollie Keitges tells KNIA/KRLS Sports her volleyball team is playing its best at the right time and is excited to get the regionals underway on Tuesday.
Keitges: “I just love the progress we’re making and we’re peaking at the right time. A couple of week ago I wasn’t sure if we were there and the season was getting close to wrapping up, but in the last week the girls have skyrocketed and it’s really fun to be a part of.”
The Panthers finish regular season play 25-9 and will host Newton on Tuesday in the first round of the class 4A regional.
