The Simpson Storm defense held Coe to just one touchdown in each of the four quarters, but the Storm offense couldn’t overcome a powerful Kohawks defense as Simpson fell 28-0 as heard live on 94.3 KNIA.
The Storm offense couldn’t sustain drives as the Kohawks had one big play in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead, and then scored again in the second to lead 14-0. As the Storm drove down the field with just seconds remaining in the first half, but an interception in the endzone ended their scoring hopes and went in down the two scores at the half.
The Kohawks again scored on a sustained drive in the third and fourth quarters to lead 28-0, and another interception in the endzone in the fourth ended any hopes of a Storm score.
Head coach Reed Hoskins said the Storm defense continues to show their intensity and that is why they’ve had a lot of success, but the offense needs to be more consistent.
Reed Worth had 105 yards receiving, while Wyatt Schaben and Zach Truitt captained the defense with 17 and 12 tackles respectively. Simpson falls to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in American Rivers Conference play, and are on the road at Luther next week.
