The Pleasantville volleyball team will host North Mahaska tonight in the quarterfinals of the Class 2A Region 3 Tournament.
The Trojans are coming off a difficult performance at the West Central Conference Tournament last week, where they fell to Earlham and Panorama, both teams they beat in the regular season. However, Pleasantville did close out the tournament with a win against Ogden to gain some momentum heading into the postseason. The Trojans head into tonight’s match with a 26-11 overall record, looking to defeat the 19-10 Warhawks who closed out their season with a 2-1 loss to Belle Plaine last week.
Pleasantville has squared off against North Mahaska twice already this year, once at the Albia tournament and once at the Chariton tournament, with each team taking a match. The Warhawks are led offensively by junior Regan Grewe who has 164 kills on the season, and the Trojans continue to see high powered offense production from Danika Park who leads the team with 252 kills. First serve tonight is at 7:00 pm.
