The Indianola City Council discussed parking on the downtown square during their work session Monday evening, which included a discussion around parking enforcement on the square and the different options the city may explore. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News there is a balance between open parking on the square and stricter enforcement policies.
“Finding that right balance, and of course working with our participating entities in the county and the state, trying to create an environment of respect is what we really want. Where we treat each other respectfully. Ultimately we have to do what is in our control, so the council is looking at other enforcement opportunities as well, whether that is through cameras or other means, we are trying to find out means, we are to enhance the enforcement without necessarily being draconian.”
