The Pleasantville boys and girls cross country teams will compete at their state qualifying meet today.
The Trojans will be running in the Class 1A State Qualifier at Central Decatur which will feature 20 teams. The Pleasantville boys will compete against #6 ranked Madrid, #13 ranked Ankeny Christian, and 20th ranked Martensdale St. Mary’s. On the girls side, the Trojans will face #1 Madrid, and #15 Central Decatur. Last year at the state qualifying meet the Pleasantville girls placed 8th and were led by Kyleigh McConnell finishing 38th with a time of 25:12. For the boys last season, the Trojans took 11th place as a team, led by Kurt Kuhnen in 25th with a time of 19:27.
Pleasantville’s Class 1A State Qualifying Meet at the Leon Golf and Country Club is at 4:00 pm today.
