Tonight is the final game of the 2023 season for the Knoxville Football Squad. While the Panthers would like to be playing Harlan for a possible play-in to the class 3A Playoffs, the Panthers will have to settle being spoilers for a Cyclones squad that needs this game to keep their playoff hopes alive. The senior group that will make their final appearance in a Knoxville Football uniform and participate in their final Panther Walk as a player, know what is ahead of them. Coach Matt Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the word this week, as it has been much of the season is finish.

Dunkin: “Finish their football careers strong, some of them have been playing since 1st or 2nd grade. Also just getting a chance to be apart of something that they get one more opportunity to improve and finish their careers strong.”

As mentioned, Harlan is 5-3, which is rather un-Harlan-like and likely needs to win tonight’s game to stay alive for a wildcard spot in the class 3A playoffs. Dunkin adds this is a chance for the seniors to go out in style and give the upcoming offseason needed momentum as they look at 2024.
