The Knoxville Public Library is holding an open house reception for local artist John Young on Thursday.
The event is from 5:30-7:00 pm and gives community members an opportunity to meet the artist, view new pieces, and enjoy some light refreshments. Young will be available for a Q&A session starting at 6:00pm for anyone interested in learning more about the artist and his work. John Young is just one of several artists that have visited the library recently, and Knoxville Public Library Adult Services Librarian Heather Libby is happy that they can showcase hidden talent in the community of Knoxville.
“It’s kind of been like a domino effect. We’ve had a couple of artists whose work we thought would be fun to display their talent. From that we’ve had people say I know someone who does brilliant work. I know someone who is an amazing photographer. We just keep uncovering this hidden talent in our community.”
This event is free and open to anyone.
