Beggars Nights throughout Marion and Warren Counties will take place near the end of the month and local law enforcement wants to remind residents to be cautious of children out trick or treating. Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt says that drivers need to be extra vigilant during these times, as some costumes may make it difficult to see children.
“One of the biggest things is not all costumes are fluorescent, not all costumes are a bright color. I mean, there are a lot of dark colors obviously during the Halloween side of it. So, people just paying attention when they are driving for young kids zipping in and out between cars and different areas, it’s just really important to maybe take a little extra time and be a little bit more cautious because the little ones, obviously not all of them are thinking about that automobile coming down the road, they’re wanting to get to that next house and grab some good treats. So, just really paying attention to that is very important.”
