Pleasantville junior cross country runner Kurt Kuhnen has qualified for the state cross country meet at the Central Decatur qualifying meet Thursday afternoon. 

Kuhnen finished tenth overall with a time of 17:33.08 to punch his ticket to the state meet in Fort Dodge, which is a continuation of his impressive 2023 season. The Pleasantville boys finished 10th as a team with 247 points. The girls squad did not have a qualifier but they finished fifth as a team with 139 points and saw strong performances from Kyleigh McConnell, who finished 21st with a time of 21:58.68, and Carly Gripp, who finished 28th with a time of 22:40.39. 

Kuhnen will compete at the state cross country meet in Fort Dodge on Friday, October 27th.
