After the two teams ultimately shared the Class 4A District 4 crown in a three-way split with Newton, only one will get the chance to advance to the round of eight playoffs this fall as the Dutch football team has a rematch with Bondurant-Farrar on Friday.

In Week Eight, #8 Pella dominated the now #2 in 4A Bluejays on their way to a season-saving win, and one that ultimately propelled the green and white into a winner-take-all contest Friday that now has the Dutch dancing in October.

Bondurant-Farrar has been plagued by injuries — including star running back Titus Cram, who suffered a season-ending leg injury at Pella High School, and several other key contributors are unlikely to suit up as the postseason begins. However, the Jays had a bounce back victory last week, dominating Carlisle 42-7 to maintain their strong RPI standing and earn the home playoff game against the Dutch.

The winner of this week’s round of 16 postseason matchup will then play against another rematched pair of foes — one week after traveling to Glenwood and hanging on to the postseason, Norwalk will retrace their steps and have a mulligan against the #10 ranked Rams. Coverage of the Pella-Bondurant rematch begins at 6:30 this Friday on the KRLS2 stream and on a simulcast on 95.3 KNIA.
