Competing for Des Moines Lincoln, Norwalk swimmers Emma Sizemore and Mallory Betts combined to place in the top eight of three individual events at Thursday’s Iowa Alliance Conference Swim Meet in Ames.
Sizemore placed second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:40.8 and took sixth in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:08.77. Betts finished seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:20.32.
As a team, the Lincoln girls scored 164 points to place third out of 10 squads. Ames won the meet with 433 points, followed by Fort Dodge with 182.
Sizemore and Betts are two of seven Norwalk girls that are swimming for Des Moines Lincoln this fall. The Rails will travel to Johnston for District competition on Saturday, November 4.
