Sophomore Coby DeRaad is the PCM boys cross country team’s first state qualifying runner since 2016. 

DeRaad punched his ticket for the State Cross Country Meet in Fort Dodge by finishing in the fifth at-large spot at the State Qualifier at Pella Christian last Thursday. DeRaad finished 17th overall in the race with a time of 17:22.99, becoming the Mustangs first boys State Cross Country qualifier since Chris Ellens seven years ago. Freshman Lila Milani also qualified for the Mustangs girl’s squad, finishing 13th overall with a time of 20:45.49. 

Both Milani and DeRaad will compete at the state cross country meet on Saturday in Fort Dodge.
