The Knoxville School Board Meet the Candidate forum will be held tonight to inform voters ahead of the upcoming 2023 school board elections. 

The forum will be held at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center from 6:30-8:00 pm and will be hosted by Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Nathan Sage. This is an opportunity for Knoxville citizens to learn more about the candidates running for school board. The six candidates running to fill three seats are Jyl DeJong, Cheri Gerdes, Brian Slykhuis, Susan Swartzendruber, Dave Smith, and Larissa Van Donselaar. Knoxville Community School District Superintendent Cassi Pearson says the forum is a chance  for the candidates to inform voters.

“It just provides a great opportunity for them to really let the public know what they stand for, why they are choosing to run for the Knoxville school board, and why they should vote for them.”

The Knoxville School Board candidate forum will be broadcast live on 95.3 KNIA.
