The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday morning.

The board approved the official statement for the Adkins Project, which is describing the bonds that will be issued to fund the project. They approved the termination of an agreement regarding building permits and inspection requirements between the City of Knoxville, Marion County, and the Marion County Fair Board.

Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery  gave a presentation  regarding the city’s LOSST distribution request. There was no action taken on the presentation and a plan was set for the cities of Knoxville and Pella to team up and deliver a joint proposal to the board regarding LOSST funds. LOSST is an agreement between Knoxville, Pella, and Marion county for redistribution of local option sales tax. The City of Pella receives 8% and Knoxville receives 4%. Ussery proposed that the board keep the agreement going so Knoxville can fund vehicle and equipment replacement, trails contributions, and the new public safety/city hall facility.

The board also set a public hearing for December 12th regarding the Marion County maintenance facility, and heard a presentation regarding the Marion County comprehensive plan.
