The Simpson Storm women’s soccer team exploded for six goals in their domination of Coe College in the regular season finale Tuesday to win 6-0, while the Storm men fell 3-1 to the Kohawks.

The Storm women got A hat trick from Cassie Nash as well as goals from Ally Hoffa, Maddie Hays and Layna Depping as they scored six goals against a conference opponent for the second straight game. Simpson gets the #2 seed in the conference tournament, and will see their first postseason action in the semifinal round next Wednesday at home. The Storm will either host No. 3-seed Luther or No. 6-seed Wartburg, depending on the result of Saturday’s first round match between the teams.

The Storm men gave up two first half goals and couldn’t recover, despite Espoire Nkomezi finding the back of the net in the second half. The Storm are the #5 seed in the conference tournament, and will play on the road Saturday in the quarterfinal round.
