
Former Melcher-Dallas Runner J’Lyn Knutson has earned her second Heart of Iowa Cross Country Runner of the Week. Knutson runs for Mount Mercy and led the Mustangs with her 5th place finish at the Seminole Valley Stampede in Cedar Rapids, recently. The junior ran the 5K in a time of 19:38, leading her team to a 2nd place finish, in a field of 63 total runners. Knutson was an NAIA Cross Country Championships national qualifier, first-team all-Heart of America Athletic Conference, Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, Heart of America Scholar-Athlete, and earned the Heart of America Athletic Conference Runner of the Week September 25th. Knutson’s next action is at the Heart of America Championships on Saturday November fourth in Cedar Rapids.
