Multiple area athletes competed at the State Cross Country Meet in Fort Dodge on Friday.

In the Class 4A girls race, Indianola took 12th place with a team score of 266 points. Leading the way for the Indians was senior Gracie Foster, who claimed an All-State spot by finishing seventh place. Foster completed the course in 18:17.1, which broke the previous school record by three seconds. Hadley Erickson (19:28.7) and Jordyn Brown (19:43.0) were the second and third finishers for Indianola coming in 53rd and 63rd. 

In the boys race in Class 4A, Norwalk took 13th in a fast field, scoring 250 points and posting a team average time of 16:29. Senior Noah Buhrow was an All-State performer for the Warriors, taking 14th place in 15:48.4. Tony Anania (16:08.1) also finished inside the top 30 at the State Meet, finishing in 28th place. The Indianola boys had one individual in the race with Reed Robbins (17:25.2) finishing in 121st.

The lone athlete competing in the Class 1A field was Pleasantville boys cross country runner Kurt Kuhnen. The junior ran the course in 17:59.1 and brought home a 72nd place finish.
