With winter approaching, the Iowa Department of Transportation wants residents to be safe on the roadways. Winter Operations Administrator Craig Bargfrede says that their website, 511IA.org, is a great source for the public to use when planning travel during snowy conditions.

“Each day, our garage staff monitors that and then during events they update those road conditions as conditions change. We try to keep around a two hour timeframe, a minimum of two hours, that we’re making sure that those conditions are updated and any other information that is needed for the public gets posted on there.”
