The Simpson College Department of Music is presenting a new performance series that will feature musicians either from Iowa or have connections to Iowa, with their first performance coming Sunday.

Organizer Linda Benoit tells KNIA News the guest string artist will be Cellist Jesse Nummelin, and he will be playing a wide range of performances, which includes songs from his Finnish heritage, and his wife and accompanying pianist is Japanese, so will also be including Japanese folk songs among many others.

The performance is free, and takes place on Sunday, November 5th at 2pm at Lekberg Hall in the Amy Robertson Music Center. For more information, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
