While the 2023 season ended earlier than they would have liked, the Pella Christian Volleyball team set a strong foundation for upcoming years.

Under first year head coach Erica Boer, the Eagles won 17 matches and had a second place finish at the North Mahaska Invite on September 16th. While the win-loss record wasn’t what she had hoped for in her first season, Coach Boer said that she feels like the program is in a good place for future years.

“What I’ve been telling people is, we probably didn’t get as many wins as I would have wanted and that we ended earlier than I would have wanted, but I felt like we ended culturally in a really good spot. Which when I took this job back in April, that was my goal, that we would feel the same way about volleyball in October that we do in August when in the preseason, and I felt like those girls did that all the way through the end. So, really kudos to them for being willing to do that and just having that mindset.”

Pella Christian finished the 2023 season with a 17-21 record overall.
