It was a group of five Knoxville Volleyball players that left their mark on the program in more ways than one. They were a part of a program that went to a regional final in three of their four seasons, took the South Central Conference title back to Knoxville, and went 103-45 during those four seasons. Coach Mollie Keitges tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the five seniors, Brittany Bacorn, Ella Breazeale, Anna Buttell, Katie Deaver and Mackenzie Karr set a standard of volleyball and how it is done for future players to look up to.

Keitges: “They established the standards of what Panther Volleyball is and they held people to it. They’re a really special group and it’s going to be weird in the gym next fall when they’re not there.”

Bacorn set her mark by being the first Panther to compile 1,000 kills, 1,000 digs, and 1,000 assists and will continue her volleyball career next fall at the University of Tulsa. Breazeale reached the 500 career kill mark this season and became the go-to player for plays at the net. Breazeale will continue her career at Belmont-Abbey College. Deaver had a career high 29 ace serves this season as she was an important part of the offense. Buttell led the Panthers with 59 blocks, 13 of them solo. Karr, while not getting a lot of playing time, was always a positive force on the bench. Knoxville went 27-and-ten this season.
