PCM senior Tiffani Koonce ended an impressive cross country career at PCM at the State Qualifying Meet on October 19th.

Koonce was just 17 seconds shy of qualifying for the State Cross Country meet in 2023, but that doesn’t take away from her success over the last four years. Koonce was consistently the top finisher for the Mustang girls  this season, in addition to being a top ten finisher in most meets. Koonce had previously qualified for state her freshman year, before falling just short her sophomore year, and missing last season due to health reasons. Despite missing her junior season, Koonce came back this year on top of her game and helped put the PCM girls in the rankings for the first time since 2017. PCM cross country coach Eric Karr hopes that this year’s experience  will serve as  motivation in future endeavors.

“I think any athlete probably has that story of that time they were so close. I just hope she uses it as motivation for the rest of her life. In track season this spring, and if she wants to run in college.”

Koonce finished her career with a 17th place finish and a time of 21:20.20 at the State Qualifying meet.
