Tuesday is election day, and for the Knoxville School Board all races will be contested.

Six candidates are running for three seats on the school board including incumbents Cheri Gerdes, Dave Smith, and Larissa Van Donselaar. They will be challenged by Brian Slykhuis, Susan Swartzendruber, and Jyl DeJong. The Knoxville city races including mayor and city council will not be contested this year. 

Knoxville Ward One will vote at the Marion County Extension Office which is a change from previous years, Ward Two will vote at the Knoxville Public Library, Ward Three will vote at Community of Christ Church, and Ward Four will vote at Dyer Hudson Hall which is located at the Marion County Fairground. Knoxville Township’s polling location will be at Marion County Public Health. Polling places on election day will be open from 7:00am-8:00pm. Voters can register ahead of time or on the day of the election.
