The Pleasantville Fine Arts program will present their first musical in seven years tonight.
The production is Seussical the Musical, which is a musical comedy based on the stories of Dr. Seuss, and performances will be held today through Sunday. Saturday’s performance will be a dinner theater show, with a pasta dinner catered by Murphy’s Plate. Members of the cast Poet Nickel and Joslynn McCormick say that they are honored to be a part of the group that is bringing a musical back to Pleasantville High School.
Nickel: “It’s really inspiring for me personally because I got to see my oldest brother be in a musical or two, and so just to be able to be a part of the group that brings that back is really special.”
McCormick: “Similarly to Poet, my sister was in fine art stuff and she never got to be in a musical. But I remember wanting to go watch the last musical we had with her and that group of people was amazing, so I’m glad that we get to be a part of this group of people.”
Showtimes will be at 6 pm today, 7 pm on Saturday with dinner beginning at 6, and the final show will be at 1 pm Sunday. Find information to purchase tickets to Seussical the Musical here.
