Central College hosts Buena Vista today in the 2023 home football finale at Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium in Pella.

The Beavers are 1-7 on the season and 1-5 in the American Rivers Conference, while Central comes in with a 6-2 overall mark and 4-2 record in the ARC. The Dutch saw their league title hopes dashed with a 24-14 loss at Wartburg last Saturday, and coach Jeff McMartin says that they’ve talked with the team all week about finishing the season strong.

“In a lot of walks of our lives, whether it be academically, in relationships or in athletics, people don’t tend to remember how you started, they really remember how you finish. I think there’s a lot of truth to that, and they’re going to want to see how you finish – how you finish the play, how you finish the half, how you finish the game – those are things that really matter.”

Today is Legacy Day and all Central football alumni have been invited back to play catch with their families on the field before the game, enjoy lunch and attend a postgame reception afterwards.
