The Pella Police Department collected over 20 pounds of expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs during the national takeback last weekend. Every six months, area police departments partner with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency to allow residents to safely dispose of those to prevent abuse. With their permanent drop box in the lobby of the Pella Police Department, they have also collected 100 pounds in the last 6 months.
