One of the highlights of the Knoxville boys cross country season was the 2nd place finish at the South Central Conference meet. The Panthers, projected to finish in the middle of the pack, placed 2nd behind Chariton and Coach Michael Splavec tells KNIA/KRLS Sports many of the conference coaches took notice that day as well.
Splavec: “Performance wise that was definitely the highlight of the year, and there were more little things that highlighted the year, but based on performance that was the highlight of the season.”
In that meet Isaac Rankin won his second straight high school conference individual title with his time of the season at 16:44. The Panthers scored 66 points and finished eight ahead of Albia. Along with Rankin getting all conference Cael Cook also earned first team all-conference.
