indianola-8

The Indianola football team had a stellar season in 2023, making the playoffs after a second-place district finish, but will need to replace a lot of leaders going into next year. The Indians will bring back a lot of offensive production, including quarterback Andrew DeWall and running back Jake Pontier, in addition to some defensive stalwarts in Adler Deike and AJ Pontier, but will lose leading tacklers Jack Strong and Jack Hilton, and leading receivers Jonce Hale and Eli Fox.
Head coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA Sports the senior class last year bought into the program and many bided their time for an opportunity to play at the varsity level, and it showed.

“I could go up and down the list of guys who were important. That group has once again taken this program to the next level, and set a standard that we are really, really proud of.”

The Indians went 6-4 on the season, falling to Cedar Rapids Xavier to end their season for the second straight year.
