PCM volleyball juniors Addison Steenhoek and Rebecca De Vries earned second team All-Heart of Iowa Conference volleyball honors this season.

De Vries was a force offensively for the Mustangs this year, recording 201 kills, which led the team and was fifth in the conference. De Vries was also third in the league for solo blocks with 19. Addison Steenhoek put together an impressive season defensively, recording 342 digs to lead the conference. Steenhoek was also third in the league for serve aces with 48 on the season. Both girls will return next season and PCM head coach Sarah De Vries is excited for the future of the program.

“We’re just working hard at being the best athletes we can be to represent our school and being strong. I’m so happy we improved on last year. I want to keep that momentum going. I’m sure there will be ups and down in the future, but we’re moving in the right direction. I think with some of the things we’re doing in the youth program, girls are excited to play volleyball. When they’re excited to play volleyball, they work hard, and when you work hard success happens. I’m excited for the future.”

PCM finished their 2023 season with an 18-14 overall record.
