Opening day of the early signing period was a busy one at Norwalk High School on Wednesday as 14 Warrior student-athletes signed national letters of intent. The list includes a pair of NCAA Division I commitments as Redek Born signed with the University of Northern Iowa for basketball and senior wrestler Tyler Harper signed with Arkansas Little Rock.

Five Norwalk girls soccer players and four softball players put pen to paper on Wednesday. The soccer signings included Anna Larson with Lewis University in Illinois, Reese Trebilcock with Winona State in Minnesota, and Lyza Banegas, Kenzie Hodge and Addi Burch with Simpson College in Indianola.

Warrior softball signings included Jaylynn Brandt with Missouri Western in St. Joseph, Lauren Black and Olivia Dougherty with Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, and Addi Downe with Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa. Also signing with NCAA Division II Missouri Western was volleyball standout Noelle Sutcliffe.

Boys soccer player Grant Fletcher signed with Central College in Pella and wrestler Tate Turner signed with Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo.

The early signing period for football begins on December 20.
