The start of the Christmas Season at the Pella Opera House begins on Saturday.
As part of the Festival of Trees celebration that runs from November 18th through December 2nd, the Pella Opera House will have two concerts coming up on Sunday, November 26th and Friday, December 15th. The first concert, Christmas at the Opera House, will be held the Sunday after Thanksgiving and Pella Opera House Executive Director Cyndi Atkins says it will feature a variety of performances.
“There’ll be little sing-alongs where we can sing Christmas carols, we have a barbershop chorus that sings some beautiful music. The children’s choir will be here, our Scholte Strings will be in here, several soloists singing songs, and we will have a special guest artist on the Barton Theatre Organ this year. And we will also have Davis opening the concert up for us on the Barton Theatre Organ. Dr. Davis Folkerts has been a feature here on the organ but this year we’re looking forward to seeing a little bit of transition, and really want people to come and hear what this Barton can do.”
On December 15th, Jordan Smith will return to the Pella Opera House for his Christmas concert. This will be Smith’s second time at the Opera House for the Christmas season, last performing a sold out show in 2021. Smith was showcased on the national stage in 2015 when he became the “Best-selling artist in the history of NBC’s The Voice” and the winner of Season 9 of the show.
Christmas at the Opera House will be held at 2 pm on November 26th, while Jordan Smith’s Christmas Show will be at 7 pm on December 15th.
