Central College men’s basketball center Joshua Van Gorp was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week on Tuesday.

The first NABC All-American in Central program history last spring, Van Gorp opened the season by averaging 28 points and 11 rebounds in Central’s 70-62 win over Concordia University (Wis.) and 96-77 victory over Principia College (Ill.). The Dutch were competing in the Mike Moklestead Motors Tipoff Classic at Loras College in Dubuque on Saturday and Sunday. Van Gorp erupted for 34 points on 15-of-19 shooting from the floor in the win over Principia and shot 78.1% for the weekend, while also recording two blocks.

Van Gorp and the Dutch plays host to Cornell College Wednesday at 7 p.m. at P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium.
