Police and fire crews are asking the public for any information they may have about a fire that occurred in Knoxville this past weekend.

Emergency crews responded to a fire 200 block of North 6th St in Knoxville Saturday. At 4:48 a.m., the the Knoxville Fire Department was dispatched and responded with an engine company, ladder company, an ambulance, and a command car with twelve total personnel. While department was enroute, dispatch advised there were flames through the roof and everyone was reported out of the structure. The department arrived to find fire in the bedroom area, exterior walls up through the roof of the first floor and the fire was rapidly spreading to the rest of the home. Knoxville fire crews were able to extinguish the fire in the carport area. No injuries were mentioned in a news release issued by Fire Chief Cal Wyman.

Knoxville Fire Department was assisted on scene by Knoxville PD, Knoxville Rural Fire Department, Indiana Township Fire Department, Pella EMS, Alliant Energy, and MidAmerican Energy.

An investigation still remains open and is being held by the Knoxville Fire Department, Knoxville Police Department, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone who may have any information about this fire is asked to contact the one of the above mentioned departments.
