Shooting has always been an issue with the Melcher-Dallas Girls Basketball Squad. Last season as a team the Saints shot just below 25% overall and 21% from three point range. Coach Kelsey Goff and her staff will always say keep shooting, and with the added height the Saints have this season, if a player does miss, she hopes her post players will be there to put it back in.
Goff: “There’s never been a time where myself or my assistant coach Larry have told girls to stop shooting. We’re not going to win if we stop shooting, so I tell the girls to keep shooting and keep putting the ball up there, and now with our height if they do miss, that’s OK because hopefully the post players will put the ball back in the hoop.”
The Saints will start their season on Tuesday with a road game at Wayne.
