Allyson Simpson is stepping into her new role as Pleasantville girls basketball coach.
Simpson was previously the head JV coach for Nevada High School, and also a varsity assistant. Simpson was a talented high school basketball player at West Branch High School and went on to play college basketball at Simpson College. Simpson is excited for her first season leading the Pleasantville girls basketball team and says she has been waiting all year for basketball season.
“I’m excited. I’m super excited. I’ve been waiting for November 6th to be here since the beginning of the school year. The summer has been a blast. I was able to be at open gyms and lifting here at Pleasantville. I’m excited, because I’m ready to watch these girls play and show us what Pleasantville is all about.”
Simpson and the Trojans open their regular season on Tuesday when they travel to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
