The Pella Dutch Robotics team battled through several mechanical challenges to finish 3rd in the Des Moines Metro league 20 team tournament Saturday at the DMACC Urban Campus.

Senior Design Engineers Hayden Papendick and Ryan Steenhoek handled the pressure to complete the rebuilds of several important components just prior to a number of the day’s competitions.

The Bionic Dutch were led in scoring by Junior computer programmer Ben Holmbeck’s autonomous code that consistently scored 20 points during the first 30 seconds of each of the six matches.
