Four Norwalk football players have been named second team All-State by the Iowa Football Coaches Association and Iowa Print Sports Writers Association. The Warrior second-teamers include senior wide receiver Keilor Rodman, sophomore wide receiver Eli Robbins, junior defensive lineman Kolton Borcherding-Johnson and senior linebacker Will Clark, who earned a defensive utility spot.

Rodman finished his Norwalk career third all-time with 1,565 receiving yards. He caught 59 passes for 983 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, adding one rushing TD and a two-point conversion. Rodman was also a vital cog at defensive back and on special teams. He totaled 18 tackles and one interception, averaged 22 yards on kickoff returns and converted 29-of-30 PAT kicks and 3-of-5 field goals.

Robbins had a breakout sophomore season for the Warriors with 53 receptions for 826 yards, 106 rushing yards and 11 total touchdowns. Defensively, he tallied 29.5 total tackles, three tackles for loss and two interceptions. Robbins returned kickoffs and punts for Norwalk and averaged 41.4 yards as the punter.

Borcherding-Johnson, who also started at offensive guard for Norwalk, was one of the team’s top tacklers as a defensive lineman, recording 51 total stops and five tackles for loss.

Clark wrapped up an outstanding career with a team-high 66 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss and two sacks, adding two interceptions (one for a pick 6) and one fumble recovery. His 44 career tackles for loss trails just one player in program history – older brother Ben.

Norwalk finished the 2023 football season with a 5-5 overall record and qualified for the Class 4A playoffs.
