indianola-8

A pair of Indianola football athletes were honored by the Iowa Football Coaches Association/Iowa Print Sports Writers Association and selected to the class 4A All-State Team as announced earlier this week, as senior defensive tackle Wyatt DeWitt made the First Team and junior offensive lineman Lathan McDaniel was selected to the Second Team.

DeWitt anchored one of the top defenses in class 4A, leading the team with four sacks and earning 9.5 tackles for loss to go along with 35.5 tackles on the season.
McDaniel was part of a fearsome rushing attack for the Indians that helped allow running back Jake Pontier rush for nearly 1,100 yards on the season and the team earned 20 rushing touchdowns, while only allowing eight total sacks as a unit all season long.

The Indians went 6-4 on the season, falling in the first round of the class 4A state playoffs.
