The Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad will be injured to start the season, and will face a difficult schedule to start the first half of the season. The Panthers have already faced Winterset in the Achieve Scrimmage on Tuesday, and will start against PCM this Tuesday for the season opener. Along with before the Christmas Break will be South Central Conference favorites Clarke, Pella returns to the regular season schedule after a season’s hiatus in mid-December. Coach Troy Pearson sees those games as an opportunity to get better and to see what his team can improve on.
Pearson: “We really like those challenges, that’s why we play Winterset in the scrimmage. It may not show up in the wins and loses, but it really gets us ready for the 3A competition.”
Later in the season, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont will be the opponent coming out of the Christmas Break along with Pella Christian, and defending class 3A State Champion Bondurant-Farrar.
