The Pella Community Foundation works to continue supporting local projects, and did so again in 2023. 

The foundation funded three Impact Grants and 25 Board Directed Grants totaling $125,000 for different local non-profit organizations within the community. President of the Foundation Jim Brandl says a donation to the Pella Community Foundation is a great way to support the organization’s efforts and also has tax incentives. 

“People who have IRAs and who are maybe beyond retirement age, that’s a good source that they can use and tap some of those IRA funds, give them directly to the Community Foundation and they avoid having to pay taxes on any investments that may have appreciated. And it goes to the community foundation so that we can fund the types of grants that we’ve talked about.”
