For the first time in several seasons, the Twin Cedars Boys Basketball Squad looks to be a contender for the Bluegrass Conference title. The Sabers finished just 2-7 last season in the conference and Coach Mateo Varese looks to contend during the regular season and the conference tournament.
Varese: “I could see us in the top 3 and we should be playing in the conference on that Saturday. Losing Owen and Logan Godfrey from Melcher, they’ll be down a bit and Moravia lost a lot from last season, Mormon we held our own against them.”
Varese adds the Bluegrass Conference was very senior heavy last season. The Sabers open up BGC play against one of the conference favorites Ankeny Christian.
